Volunteers

Welcome to the 2024 Little League Season!

St. Louis Park Little League (SLPLL), is a volunteer run, not-for-profit organization that is designed to provide a youth baseball program in St. Louis Park that is equally accessible and affordable to all. In order to maintain this status, each family registered in SLPLL is required to complete volunteer hours each season.

For the 2024 year, twelve (12) volunteer hours will be required for EACH CHILD enrolled in the league, with a max of twenty-four (24) hours per family.   There will be an additional two (2) hours required for all players registered for the post season for a total of 14 volunteer hours.  The two (2) post season hours MUST be fulfilled during the time of the post season.  Please be aware that ALL twelve (12/14) volunteer hours per child needs to be met in order for your deposit to be returned. If you do not meet your minimum volunteer requirement, your check WILL BE CASHED!

Uniform pick up: This year, 2024, in order to pick up your player's jersey, you will be required to bring a check in the amount of $400 for each child playing SLP Little League 2024.  If your volunteer hours are not completed, your checks will be cashed at the end of the season.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas as of April 1st, 2024:

-Concessions stand managers, openers and workers

          -Field Maintenance

-Tournaments month of July and first weekend of August

Tournaments SLPLL will be hosting (TBD)

The following are the requirements for all coaches for 2024 in order to receive full credit for volunteer hours:

  1. Must attend 75% of games/practices
  2. Concussion Training
  3. Background Check
  4. Application (found on the website under the coaches tab)

Tournaments: There will be volunteers needed from July 8th  through July 31st.  During tournaments, volunteers will be needed in the following areas: scoreboard, score keeping (please be advised that training is needed for this), announcing, pitch counting, concessions, and fields.

Teenagers for Hire: If your family would like assistance in meeting your family’s volunteer hours, we have made arrangements with teenagers willing to be contacted for hire to fill in hours to count towards your requirements. You will need to book the hours in Dibs and tell them the date/time that they will be working and for how many hours. When they sign-in, they will put their name in as well as your name so we will know which family to credit the hours to. The rate is $15.00 per hour. Please pay them in cash, Venmo or check (some may not have checking accounts, so please verify with them how they would like to be paid) made payable to them and NOT SLPLL. They MUST be paid before their shift starts.  The list will be posted in each concession stand (Northside and Skippy) and will be sent upon request by sending an email to Julie at slplittleleaguevolunteers@gmail.com.
