Frequently Asked Questions from Volunteers
I don’t see any shifts available on DIBS. What am I doing wrong?
If you've followed the steps above, you're doing nothing wrong. If you see nothing listed after you've logged into DIBS, this means that all shifts currently available have been claimed. Don’t worry, more will become available soon. The volunteer shifts are directly tied to the game schedules, so volunteer shifts will are added slowly at the beginning of the season until game schedules are finalized.
How old do you have to be to work in the concession stand?
You must be 15-years old to work in the stands.
Can I sign up for more than one shift during the same time period?
Yes, the system will allow this. People do this when they want to bring a spouse or other friend or family member along to volunteer at the same time. It’s a great way to fulfill your volunteer commitment quickly. Just claim one shift for each person working.
I worked in the concession stand yesterday, but the hours have not shown up in my DIBS account. Why?
When you work a shift in one of the concession stands, you will sign in and out as documentation that you have completed the hours you’ve claimed. These sign-in sheets are picked up about once per week and the information is then added into DIBS. Once your shift has been verified as fulfilled, the hours will be loaded into your account. It is normal for the turnaround time to take 1-2 weeks.
I was scheduled in the concession stand until 9:00 last night, but the game ended early. People left and the concession stand closed at 8:45. Will my time be cut back 15 minutes in DIBS?
You will still receive credit for the entire shift you claimed in DIBS. In this case, your hours will be credited until 9:00 pm.
I am not receiving emails alerting me when volunteer hours have been posted in DIBS? What can I do?
You can add an email address to your account by following the steps below:
- Go to www.slplittleleague.com and click the word “login” at the very top-left corner of the screen.
- Enter your username and password and click “login”.
- Now, in the most upper-left corner, you should see your username. Click on it.
- You should see a light switch near that same corner. Click on the word “Edit” and the light switch will flip to allow you to make changes in the edit mode.
- Next, right above the light switch, click the word “account”.
- At the heading “Email Address”, click the link “add email address”.
- Enter the email address you’d like to add and click the “add email address” button.
- One last step. The email address you’ve just added was sent a confirmation email. Go to your email account, find the message in your Inbox and click the link within the confirmation email. Sounds like a lot, but this should all take less than a couple of minutes. You’re all set!
