This tournament will be using the official regulation and playing rules of Little League Baseball Tournament Rules beginning on page T-1 of the Little League Rule book including tournament pitch count rules. For the purposes of the Litman Tournament, a maximum of one manager and two coaches per team may participate in the tournament.
All games will be played at the Skippy Fields located in Carpenter Park near the junction of MN Hwy 100 and MN Hwy 7 in St. Louis Park. For location and directions to the Skippy Fields, visit our website at: http://www.slpbaseball.com/page/show/167119-locations-of-fields
There is no time limit on games; however, if there is more than one game scheduled on the same field in the same day, an inning may not start beyond 1 hour and 45 minutes from start time for all games except the last. Also, no inning may be started after 9:40pm, as the lights at Skippy Field must be turned off promptly by 10:00pm as per city ordinance. If a winner cannot be declared because of tie or lack of innings completed to declare the game official, teams will be asked to resume the game at a later time from exactly where it was left off until completion.
Teams should arrive at least a half hour prior to the game startin gtime. On your first day of the tournament, please check in with the tournament directory. Then seek out your opponent and perform a coin flip to determine who will be the home team. The loser of the coin toss will select the dugout. The Skippy Fields are extremely busy and as safety is a main concern, we request that warm-ups are only permitted in the batting cages, outfield or the soccer field (beyond outfield fences) when not occupied. Please be advised that we cannot guarantee adequete space for warm-ups for your team prior to game time, so you may want to hold the warm-ups at your home field prior to leaving for Skippy Field.
Please provide 2 new regulation baseballs per game to the umpire before each game.
Provide your starting lineup to the scorekeeper/announcer and the opposing manager prior to the game. The coach will receive a pitching affidavit upon registration. The official bookkeeper in the announcing shed will keep and fill out the pitching affidavits. You must verify and have it signed by the official scorekeeper in the announcer's booth at the end of each game. The Tournament Director can also sign pitching affidavits.
The Tournament Director or another SLP LL Board member will also handle protests and the ruling will be final. Be sure to acquaint yourself with the Tournament Director and/or additional SLP LL league officials should you need to consult them during the tournament.
Weather: Always assume the games will be played and show up at the field unless you receive other notification. We have set aside Friday June 22th, Monday June 25th, Wednesday June 27th, and Thursday June 29th as make-up days should entire games, or parts of games be postponed. We will make every effort to play all games. If we are unable to play all pool play games, advancement will be based on current number of games completed up to that point.
Please ask your players and their parents to patronize and support the host concession stand and avoid bringing coolers. St. Louis Park will provide water and cups for each dugout.
Also, please let your families know that St. Louis Park City Ordinance prohibits dogs at the Skippy Fields. Please ask them to leave their dogs at home.
