IMPORTANTThere are some changes to registration and new options for the 2025 season.  See below.

NEW PROCESS AND OPTIONS FOR 2025

New Registration Site and Process:

Registration for SLP Little League will use a separate website and app this year, which is required by the national Little League association for the 2025 season.

Registration Site: https://leagues.bluesombrero.com/stlouisparkll

Important notes when registering, please read!

The registration site is hosted by SportsConnect and uses the domain `bluesombrero.com`. You will create a new account (Click Register first time) for yourself as the account holder.
  • It will walk you through registering your player(s) after that, before payment (credit card or checking account).
  • The registration site will ask about uploading documentation for proof of residency and school.
    • YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS at this time.  This is used for players on Summer All-star teams.
  • This account is separate from your SLP Little League website account (which uses SportsEngine, confusing isn't it).
    • SportsConnect -> Registering
    • SportsEngine (SLP website) -> Teams, Schedules, Communication, Dibs volunteering
  • We realize this is 'yet another account' to manage and is less than ideal.  Unfortunately it is required by the national Little League association as of 2025 and is not a choice by SLPLL.

Little League Plus Option (Applicable for Kid Pitch ages):

For kid pitch players who plan to play Little League and are interested in the additional LL+ option, please indicate interest in the Little League registration process form.

  • Plus teams will play in one or two tournaments as a SLP team during the spring season and will have some practice outside of their standard Little League team.
  • Based on interest at each age level, tryouts will be held for players for the possibility to get added to a Plus team, which is in addition to their standard Little League team.
  • Players must live within the SLP school district or attend a school in SLP.
  • There will be an additional cost and time commitments outside of the player's Little League team.
  • This is not Summer / July baseball.  That will be communicated later during the season.
  • This option will still have your player placed on a standard Little League team.  This is still Little League, not Travel.

Travel Baseball (Applicable for 10 and 11 year olds):

New this year, there will be an option for some age groups to play Travel baseball (not Little League).   Travel baseball is not a part of Little League and is coordinated by the SLP Travel Baseball association.

  • If interested in Travel, you will not register for Little League at this time, instead register for Travel.
  • Players not placed on a Travel team will still be able to register for Little League after the travel teams are formed in late February.
  • Information about the age levels (10, 11) and travel registration links will be provided also in early January.
  • Players must live within the SLP school district or attend a school in SLP.
  • Tryouts for travel baseball are held in February.
  • Travel baseball has a higher cost (~$450) and player time commitment expectations.

Information on registration and volunteering

We encourage you to use on-line registration. Opening of registration will be publicized in social media, the schools and through the Parks and Rec. Department.

  • For your protection, all participants MUST complete on-line registration with the League before participating in any games or practices.
  • Registration must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian as a waiver of liability for the League and their volunteers. Parents of new players must provide on request, a valid birth certificate or passport and proof of residency.
  • We will be collecting the registration fee on the registration site, using major credit card (this includes your jersey, hat, and pants).  If this does not work for you, please contact the league.
  • Volunteer Requirement:  As SLPLL is a volunteer organization, parents are required to help support through volunteer hours. Before the start of the season (uniform pickup) parents must provide a $400 refundable online volunteer deposit or volunteer check before uniforms will be issued.  More info below.

Uniforms

Included in the registration fee, St. Louis Park Little League provides a cap, socks, belt, jersey, and pants for all players that are theirs to keep.

Insurance

Players must provide proof of health/medical insurance at registration. The Little League insurance program is designed to afford protection to all participants at the most economical cost to the league. It can be used to supplement other insurance coverage under a family policy or provided by an employer. If there is no other coverage, Little League insurance provides certain benefits. If an injury occurs during a game or practice, the team manager is expected to report it to the league Safety Officer within 48 hours.

Family Involvement/Volunteering

St Louis Park Little League serves over 400 children annually. The league takes a great deal of time and money to operate.  The registration fee that we collect does not cover the complete cost of operating the league for the season.

  • At the beginning of the season (uniform pick-up in April), the league collects a volunteer deposit (typically a check) to ensure that all commitments are fulfilled.
  • We don’t cash the checks until the end of the season and only if you have not fulfilled your volunteer commitment.  St. Louis Park Little League is a volunteer organization.

Parents & Guardians may meet their volunteer hours through:

  • Volunteer shifts such as concession stand, field crew, and other volunteer opportunities.
  • Coaching
  • SLP Board Commitments

Volunteer shift hours are determined annually by the board of directors.

  • Revenues raised from the concession stand are used to help lower registration fees and to pay all umpiring fees.
  • Concession, Field Maintenance, and other volunteer opportunity hours will be scheduled on the league web-site.
  • It is your responsibility to trade hours with someone if you cannot work the assigned shift.
  • You must log your hours worked in folders located in each concession stand.
  • Completed hours will be posted biweekly on the league web-site.

Coaching: If you are interested in coaching, please mark so in the registration forms.  In most cases, parents and guardians interested in coaching do end up coaching for that season but can depend case by case based on interest at that age level each year.  Coaches are required to make >75% of the team activities to count for their volunteer commitment.
