Volunteer info for 2026 season
St. Louis Park Little League (SLPLL) is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization committed to providing a youth baseball program that is equally accessible and affordable to all. Every registered family is required to complete volunteer hours each season.
Find important volunteer info on this page. Questions? Email [email protected] — we’re happy to help!
Volunteer hour requirements
12 hours per child enrolled in the league
24-hour maximum per family
Families with a player participating in July Ball (ages 9+) have an additional 2 hours per player on top of the family maximum
All hours (or coaching requirements) must be met for your deposit to be returned
If you do not meet your minimum, your check will be cashed
Volunteer checks required for uniform pick up
Bring a check for $400 per child to pick up your player’s uniform.
Pre-paid the $400 buyout at registration? No check needed — it will be noted on the checkout list
Maximum of 2 checks required, even if you have 3+ players
This applies to all families, even those who plan to coach
Checks are cashed at end of season (August) if volunteer hours are not completed
Where volunteers are needed
Regular season shifts are posted in Dibs at the start of the season. Tournament shifts are posted separately, closer to tournament dates.
Concessions (managers, openers, workers)
Field maintenance
Miscellaneous tasks throughout the season
Tournament support (late July through first weekend of August)
Coach volunteer requirements
To receive full credit, coaches must:
Attend 75% of games/practices
Complete Concussion Training
Pass a Background Check
Submit a Coach Application (found under the Coaches tab)
Claiming hours — Dibs
All volunteer hours are claimed through SportsEngine Dibs.
Log in as the person who registered your player
Click the Dibs tab (top right), then select 2026 Volunteers
Check back often — cancelled shifts may reopen
Read the volunteer page notes before each shift for role-specific details.
Teenagers for hire
Need help covering your hours? We maintain a list of teens available to work shifts on your behalf at $15/hour.
Book the shift in Dibs, then coordinate date/time with your teen
When they sign in, they’ll enter their name and yours so hours are credited to your family
Pay them directly in cash, Venmo, or check — not to SLPLL
Payment must be made before the shift starts

Sign in / sign out
Scan the QR code posted at the concession stands and field garages at the start and end of every shift.
Hours are posted within 1 week of your shift
If hours from the previous week are missing, contact [email protected]
No credit given if you arranged a sub and they don’t show up
Can’t make your shift?
You must cancel in Dibs at least 48 hours before your shift starts. If that window has passed, finding a replacement is your responsibility — not the league’s.
Reach out to teammates’ parents, school connections, or family members willing to cover (must be 15 or older)
Still stuck? Email [email protected] and we’ll do our best to help
Weather and cancellation policy
Check www.slplittleleague.com for game status before every shift.
Games cancelled before your shift starts → ½ credit; select a new Dibs posting for remaining hours
Games cancelled after you’ve arrived and are working → full credit (as long as no additional games still need coverage)
Game rescheduled → you have first right to keep your shift for the makeup date; please respond promptly if contacted as we’ll need to fill the spot if you can’t make the new time
A few more things
Free Icees — all uniformed players get a free Icee after their game; friends and siblings can purchase one
Out of products — note missing items (hotdogs, buns, soda, etc.) on the notepad in the stand; we restock twice a week
Opening & closing — follow instructions in the Volunteer Binder in each stand
